Our Story

We've loved every minute of our journey

An Idea is Born

In early January of 1998 Elise Lindsay, Marian and Judy embarked on a healing adventure pooling all their resources and buying the proud, stately, stick Victorian on 74 woodland Ave in Gardner, Ma. It was their collective dream to utilize their professional talents and experiences to create a place where people of all sorts and conditions could come and be healed. The Elise Lindsay Healing Center was born shortly after the move. The Center was staffed with Elise and her Lengthy teaching history and an advanced degree in Psychology and years of amazing experiences. Judy the graphic design artist who went off to Pratt in New York to become an art therapist for the center and Marian a licensed clinician at a local agency with a background in pastoral counseling, emergency work and inpatient experience at the local hospital, and adjunct staff teaching psychology at the local college. The name of the Center was selected to honor Elise Lindsay and the many others like her, who lived childhoods riddled with abuse neglect and severe trauma, with little or no treatment or help available. Shocked and saddened by the untimely death of our partner Judy in 2000, Elise and Marian continued on with their dream. Over the years they provided services; including: traumatic grief counseling, traditional individual and family counseling, supervised visitations for noncustodial parents, ordered through the courts (working with many area lawyers), dream interpretation group, Spiritual counseling direction, Spirit Gatherings (a safe place for women to share their journey's), Adult play groups and so much more. In February of 2014 Elise Lindsay Passed away after a lengthy illness but her legacy of healing and love for all beings remain. For the many lives touched and for those who continue to be, The Elise Lindsay Healing Center is alive and well, growing and expanding.
